The overall objective of the project is to enhance the capacity of Transition States in Africa to manage their public debts more effectively, transparently and sustainably for macroeconomic stability, fiscal resilience, inclusive growth, and sustainable development. The specific objectives of the project are to strengthen the capacity for prudent, transparent, and sustainable debt management; enhance capacity for managing arrears; and enhance the countries’ abilities to raise sustainable debt financing for more productive purposes, leading to fiscal stability and resilience. The project is focused on capacity development for debt management and public finance management through structured and flexible technical assistance, executive training and policy dialogue to the transition countries to enable them to build their institutional capabilities to better manage their debts and build the fiscal resilience needed for development. The key components of the Project include Diagnostic/Needs Assessments, Training/Technical assistance, Policy Dialogue and Project Management.
