The overall objective of this study is to provide a comprehensive regional fragility assessment that identifies the main drivers of fragility and the opportunities for building resilience at the regional level. The assessment will take into consideration individual and collective pressures faced by countries in the region and their individual and joint capacity to respond to those pressures. The assessment is expected to provide practical entry points for building resilience in the region. The findings of this assessment will directly feed into the upcoming RISP process (extension, completion, diagnostic, next RISP) and guide fragility lens application in the Bank’s programming, policy dialogue, and operational pipeline in the region. It will also support coordination with RECs and ROs, supporting them to operationalize regionally coherent responses to fragility.
