Under the overall guidance of the Manager, Agriculture and Rural Finance Division (AHFR1), and the direct supervision of the assigned Task Manager(s), the consultant will be expected to perform the following duties:

• Business Development Support: Assist Task Mangers in origination, conducting business identification/screening and following up on leads. A strong understanding of the private sector agriculture finance landscape across African countries is essential;
• Transaction Delivery Support: Contribute to project due diligence processes, including credit risk assessments, environmental and social impact evaluations, and the preparation of investment documentation and related deliverables;
• Technical Assistance and Resource Mobilization: Support the preparation of Technical Assistance (TA) applications from internally managed trust funds and contribute to resource mobilization efforts by drafting funding proposals for external sources;
• Program Implementation and Capacity Building: Assist in the implementation of technical assistance programs and support capacity strengthening initiatives for agriculture sector stakeholders in Regional Member Countries (RMCs), with a focus on mainstreaming financing for agri-SMEs, women, and youth;
• Research and Analysis: Conduct research and provide analytical support for the development and refinement of agriculture development programs across African countries;
• Cross-functional Collaboration: Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to support internal reviews, business opportunity processing, fundraising, and the implementation of technical assistance initiatives.
• Managerial and Operational Support: Provide direct support to the Division Manager across all the above activities, including strengthening team infrastructure through streamlined reporting systems, enhanced coordination processes, and joint development of operational and strategic solutions.
