Brief Description of the Assignment
The African Development Bank (AfDB) is seeking the services of a highly motivated Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Specialist to provide technical and operational support for the implementation of two key initiatives under the Agriculture and Agro-Industry Department (AHAI): the Global Agriculture and Food Security Program (GAFSP) and the newly launched Ending School Age Hunger in Africa Trust Fund (ESAH).
The objective of the assignment is to strengthen monitoring, evaluation, and results reporting systems for GAFSP- and ESAH-supported operations across Regional Member Countries. The Specialist will provide technical assistance to mainstream and align the updated 2022 GAFSP M&E Plan with project-level frameworks, enhance data collection instruments, build M&E capacity across project implementation units (PIUs), and improve portfolio-level reporting on key indicators.
The consultant will also support evidence-based learning, donor coordination, and resource mobilization efforts, in close alignment with the Bank’s Feed Africa Strategy, which guides AHAI’s work on agricultural transformation.
