The African Ports Connectivity Portal (APCP) project is an initiative by the African Development Bank to enhance information sharing and collaboration among African ports. The project aims to improve data collection and connectivity among the continent's ports. Support beyond the MDTF will aim to facilitate business sustainability assessments (sustainability study) for a robust and dynamic ports data ecosystem, crucial for informed decision-making, investment planning, and policy formulation in the maritime and logistics sector. The sustainability study will identify mechanisms to ensure the long-term viability of the APCP, including data collection frameworks, technological infrastructure, governance models, and financial sustainability strategies. This aligns with regional integration efforts and NEPAD-IPPF’s strategic objectives of enhancing trade facilitation and transport infrastructure development.
